COVID-19 Update

Here at Hill Vision Services we are doing our best adjust to the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic. Even in these difficult and frightening times, we are striving to provide the best possible eye care to patients with emergency problems, while maintaining the optimum amount of safety for both patients and our staff.

If you think you have an eye emergency – eye pain, vision loss, or any other persistent, serious problem that concerns you, we have staff available to answer your call and doctors on-call to address these urgent needs.

Furthermore, we are pleased to announce that for patients with less severe, but still pressing issues, we are now able to offer the option of tele-medicine consults to address certain types of eye problems. Tele-medicine visits require either a computer or smart phone to send videos or pictures of the ocular condition, and the problem can be discussed via a phone call with one of our doctors. These visits are now being covered by most insurance plans and can be conducted remotely from the comfort and safety of your own home. Depending on your insurance plan, you may or may not be required to pay a co-pay for tele-health visits.

Finally, as the weeks go by, we know many of you may have gradually progressive problems such as cataracts or corneal disease that are causing vision loss. In many of these cases, it may be acceptable to wait to address these problems with elective surgery when things “return to normal.” For those patients, however, for whom a progressive problem such as cataracts or corneal disease has become increasingly concerning or is causing severe vision loss, we are planning to begin performing some “urgent” elective procedures in the coming weeks and and months. If you have a significant problem that you think may require surgery soon, please call our office to schedule an appointment with one of our doctors.

For your safety and the safety of our staff, we have instituted meticulous new cleaning protocols in our office, as well as new protocols for patient appointment times, check-in, testing, and examinations in the office. Even in this time of crisis, we want to continue providing safe and effective care for all.
