It is well known that LASIK can greatly improve patients’ quality of life, but many are concerned about the cost. LASIK eye surgery, however, can actually save you money in the long run! The costs for glasses, contacts, and other corrective vision tools and visits can add up over time — LASIK can eliminate many of those costs, lowering the long-term financial burden.

You have various financing options that can help cover your laser eye surgery or other vision correction procedures. At Hill Vision Services, we want to help make LASIK affordable! Learn more about your budget-friendly options below.

Medicare & Insurance

Most insurance companies consider vision correction procedures like LASIK and Visian ICL to be “cosmetic” and do not cover those costs. Other vision procedures, such as glaucoma and cataract surgery, may be covered by your Medicare or insurance provider, check with your provider to find out if your vision correction procedure is covered.

Credit Card

Utilizing a credit card is a great way to cover the cost of LASIK eye surgery or other procedures not covered by insurance, especially if you have a card that has a low-interest rate. Some new credit cards may be interest-free or may even give you a year or more to pay off your balance. Other cards will let you earn rewards, points, miles, or even cash refunds. There are also cards that may allow you to transfer a balance and receive another interest-free period, giving you the opportunity to pay off your balance over time. Each credit card has its own specific details so be sure to check yours. We accept MasterCard, VISA, and Discover cards.

CareCredit

CareCredit is a health care credit card commonly used to pay for the cost of LASIK and other vision correction procedures. This type of credit card can often offer no-interest financing as long as payments are set up ahead of time and paid on the set schedule. Typically, there is no interest due for 6 months after a purchase is made. If you qualify, the funds they provide can help make it easier to pay for vision care including LASIK, cataract surgeries, standard (single-focus) IOLs, multifocal and toric IOLs, glasses, contact lenses, etc. Learn more about CareCredit

FSAs & HSAs

Some employers sponsor Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) and Health Savings Accounts (HSA), which allow you to put a portion of your pre-tax salary into an account for out-of-pocket health care. Vision correction procedures such as LASIK are approved under most of these plans. Check with your employer about your open enrollment period.
